The flu and how you handle it

I'm in a hospital bed waiting for the IV to finish up. It's making me feel a bit better.

3J is helping me through this week but I was wondering what everyone else does when this sick. I don't ever remember having the flu, although I might have had it just not tested for it. My wife had it mid-January. We slept separately until she got better, we both wore masks (very Japanese). Most of my students had it December/January but they didn't have classes until they were better. I thought I was the lucky one that just didn't get the flu. Well, that lack of sleep/energy etc must have been the start.

I'm not allowed to work for 1 week. Not a problem, don't want to pass this on to any of the kids. No gym, sucks, but I really don't have the energy to go even if I was able to prevent passing this on.

What food helps with energy? I've gotta do something even if it's just around the apartment. Today I'll crash in bed. Does Tamaflu work well for most?

If you have any home remedies, feel free to chime in.

When I'm sick a good book and as much sleep as possible with some netflix (breaking bad is a must if you haven't seen it) is about all you can do. It's a sad time to watch a lot of hard work melt off of you but gains will be quick to come back. The best advise is do everything you can to try to eat maintence calories to keep weight loss to a minimum. Best of luck to you. Get well soon :Puke:

Tamaflu works great but only if you start using it within 2 days (I think) of getting the flu, otherwise it is too late to be of assistance to your body.
