The half life of AI

What are you guys opinion on your Aromatase inhibitor (AI). Do you think it works right away the minute you take it or Do you feel it working slowly thru the next couple days of taking it. And what Aromatase inhibitor (AI) do you take when you do or do not feel it working right away?

I feel it within several hours for sure. I don't feel much different on arimidex or aromasin. Within like 8 hours of taking arimidex my nipples itch again. Letro is king.

i guess everyone is different but i dont feel anything at all when taking an Aromatase inhibitor (AI). ive only taken aromasin though.

I meant that if I crash my e2 I feel my joints hurting and whatnot. I don't feel that much difference other than I wake up with morning wood and whatnot as long as I take my letro.

I have always used arimidex. And I have never had itchy nips. But it will upset my stomic unless i take it with food. And I start to see a diff in about a day.

I have been taking 1mg adex E5D and I seem to feel lethargic 12-24 hours after and then by the next day my mood and energy seem to go up. Just took 1/2mg today for the first time.

I notice everyone feels differently with their Aromatase inhibitor (AI).
I am taking 1mg Anastrozole. Chip has instructed me to do 2mg Aromatase inhibitor (AI) weekly. On the days I take my 1mg pill, I am not able to sleep that night what so ever. I think that 1mg is hitting me pretty hard so I will try .5mg 4 days a week split thru out the week which will pretty much equall 2mgs weekly and keep my estro nicely leveled every day.

That is the reason I was asking what you guys think the half life of an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) would be. Thanks for the responses

Half life of arimidex is about 48-hours. Aromasin 24-hours. Two entirely different AIs in how they work though. Aromasin is a Type I noncompetitive inhibitor that binds to aromatase enzyme irreversibly meaning even if Aromasin is gone from your system, the only way to continue aromatizing is new aromatase must be produced (probably why it is called a suicide inhibitor). Adex (and letro) is (are) a Type II competitive Aromatase inhibitor (AI) meaning its bind is reversible (doesn't fully kill or deactivate aromatase). So, they must be in your body to continue working.

I haven't seen anything on whether it immediately drops estrogen but based on how it works binding with aromatase to prevent conversion, logically it doesn't seem it would. If an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) really did, I'm not sure why people who have very high estrogen need to up their dosage and increase frequency for a week or two to bring estrogen back down (for me it was over a week taking daily).

Since I'm not an expert, it'd be awesome if someone has solid data on if it does drop estrogen directly - I just can't find anything one way or another.

So, adex has been a tricky one for me personally - a bit hard to get dial in. Whether I take .5 or 1mg of adex, I don't notice anything right away or within hours of taking it.

I am starting aromasin tomorrow though so we'll see how it goes. Though based on cjw's love for letro, I will try that next if aromasin doesn't work for me.

when you switched to letro from adex, what was your dosage adjustment,or if anyone switches, what mg would you use compared to adex?

thanks
