I was atwork last night and my calf started cramping up, so i drank tons and tons of water....Any one know what caused this?? It is now 11 hours later from when it started and I still cant walk properly as my left calf is just in pain. I dont know wheter it is cramping of if i tore my calf....THere is no bruising, or any abnormal signs of a tear. The only thing is that when i try to stretch the calf it starts to hurt. Also it hurts when i apply pressure to it with my hands..

then it is still somewhat cramped. drink some pickle juice and it will go away. but make sure to massage it afterwards.

gymphreak are you currently doing a cycle??? I know when I was using Tren I used to wake up with calve cramps on leg day. I just tried to stretch them out and drink lots of water.

If I don't stretch like a madman on calf day, I can't walk for like a week.

If I stretch enough, I hardly feel a thing the next day.

lol @ the pickle juice comment....

It could be possible that ihave a low sodium level.....and im not on any cycles.....just intaking ephedrine..

talking about insanes comment....i think that might be the culprit...i did calves on wed, they were a little tired yesterday and hit me big time around 2-3 am in the morning today

From my limited experience it would seem more likely to me that your cramps are the result of a potassium deficiency rather than sodium.

Sodium's benefit, to my knowledge, would be during extended aerobic activity. It's function being to help the body hold water and avoid dehydration (which would cause cramping).

Could be either sodium or potassium, IMO. Keep in mind too that every time you take a step the calves contract, so if they're already sore/tight from a workout, they are predisposed to cramp up on ya.
