I was reading on www.erowid.org and I learned that yohimine hcl is a MAOI (http://www.erowid.org/plants/yohimbe/yohimbe.shtml) and that these are dangerous to use with certain foods, more specifically those with tyramine. There are alot of foods (http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/maois/maois_info2.shtml) you should avoid while on MAOI's and some are easily avoided some not one is whey protein powders.

I take yo and tyramine together before cardio as studies show taking them together raises N/A levels by 1600%

Noradrenaline.

Someone else will have to take the rest though. As far as it being an MAOI, I believe it's very mild.

It is mild, yet is does allow tyramine to enter the brain by blocking monoamines from breaking them down. Something that otherwise would not happen.

perhaps the reason some get headaches? who knows

yohimbine is a very short action mao inhibitor. less than 30-40min (half life apprx 11min).

unless you are taking tyramine with it, which some people do because it greatly elevates the stimulation, there is little issue.

as a note this only applies to oral yohimbine.. topical yohimbine will not have the same interaction..

its inhibition of MAO in the gut that is the issue
