Hi guys,

I started working out seriously 2 yrs ago and everything was doing fine until recently i realised that i had some symptoms that i could not explain. For example i am overwhelmed, tired all the time, i have trouble concentrating, mental fog in general. I realised that my hair started falling of a bit, i have a reduced sex drive, i always feel cold or warm, dry cough and persistent nausal congestion. I did not do steroids yet as i am so young (19 yrs old), i want to get experienced first. But now i am concerned about my health and i do not know what is the cause, i went to the doctor and did a cbc and everything was fine. But my thyroid lab levels and testerone were :
Testosterone, Serum 288 ng/dL

TSH 3.720 uIU/mL 0.450 - 4.500
Thyroxine (T4) 8.7 ug/dL 4.5 - 12.00
T3 Uptake T3 Uptake 37 % 24 - 38
Free Thyroxine Index 3.2 1.2 - 4.9

What do u think about the results? My doc said that they were ok, but i think that they should be better as i am so young ?

Regards

Some docs are so freaking stupid man. At 19 years old, that testosterone level is not alright. You should probably be 3-4 times higher than that number. Your TSH is alright but just keep an eye on it. Ideally, I like to have a TSH level of a 1-2 to feel optimal. Have you had any head traumas or groin injuries??

Thats what i thought, he kept telling me that it was normal, still in the range. I googled a little bit and found out that it needs to be higher (especially during young adulthood, right?), but what can be the problem causing it ? What can i do to optimize the levels of TSH ? I did not have any groin injuries. However, i did have kinda a head trauma. It was a fight that i got into about a year ago with the douchebag security at a nightclub, got hit by a gun.... U think it may have caused a problem?

Many labs have not updated their normal ranges for TSH. The new standard is that TSH over 3.0 may indicate hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism can also cause your Total Testosterone to be lowered. Yours is currently at hypogonadal levels. You need the help of a good endocrinologist.

Get your LH and FSH checked too.

If you don't know one, you may want to consider calling the forum sponsor IMT.

Good luck!
