what can you sub in for box squats and decline bench on his routine on pg 6 in the sticky.

shoulder prevents me from doing the decline, so i was thinking of going incline.

box squats...well i just hate them to be 100% honest, id rather do more squats.

i would assume that regular squats(i sqitch between pause and regulars) and incline would be fine. I am sure pb will drop in and give some good advice soon.

You have shoulder problems and incline is better???? I find decline bench takes the shoulder right out of the equation.

when doing pause squats, how much weight do you use (% of 1RM) and how many reps are ideal? still keep them low? as in 4-6 reps?

youll have to play with it to find what works weight wise for you. make sure you go all the way down. low reps works fine.

lets not worry about the training stuff. im more interestred in that atavar. very very sweet.

we still moving forward without over-training. next week will be a determining factor. hit a rep pr this week on bench and next week will be a weight pr attempt. my bench has always been my slow mover. legs and back usually move much faster, which is what's happening right now. trouble is i'm bench only at this meet. it's like going to a gun fight with a knife. :D

I am the same way, incline is the only bench press that does not affect my shoulder. I cannot flat bench without a very good setup, in two weeks my shoulder would be killing me otherwise. I won't even attempt a decline anymore they hurt so bad.

i know of a 1k+ squatter who does pause squats after reg squats and keeps the reps between 5-10...

no right answer do what you feel is better..make sure you arent cheating and boucing out of the hole..make sure you are pausing

My pause squats are around 70% of my normal weights. I pause for 2-5 full seconds, so there is zero stretch response.
