Training after shoulder pain

I dislocated my shoulder back in March of this year. It never felt quite right after that; I had it checked out and I had a few small tears. Long story short, I insisted on getting surgery with top notch shoulder guy. Does anyone have any experience training after shoulder surgery/ trama?

I have torn my right rotator cuff & my left labrum. I opted not to have surgery. It took a good year before I felt that I could have a good workout. I lost some ROM and have a bit of pain at my end ranges of motion, but nothing bad.
I'm sure that you went thru some type of P.T. after surgery. Continue doing your rotator cuff exercises and make sure you stretch the shoulder real good. I would recommend that you start light on your workouts and see how the shoulder responds. Then you can always increase the weights. Hope this helps

ive had the surgery on the cuff also. i was screwed for about a year.

i have worked my way back up in size and what i can lift. the most important thing to do is what the physio doc tells you. the small muscles they will have you work will help hold it in place better. then you can work on building mass around them.
i still have rather painfull days and i always will but that just reminds me to go back to the root and do the small muscles again
