What exercise(s) did you replace deads with?

I don't feel deads in my lats that much unless im doing double overhand grip, but then I can't do that much weight.
 
my back workouts consist of heavy pulldowns, rows, all that kind of stuff, lots of variety as my gym has tons of hammer strength machines...occasionally I add in hyper extensions to keep my lower back looking decent
I'll see how it pans out soon enough as I am starting contest prep next week

Tried this today and loved it. Now it will be a regular in my routine. My girl also liked them :)
 
Needsize, try throw in deads at the end of your back workout. Seriously, I find this to be the best.

Otherwise after I finish deads I am gassed and don't have the energy to bust through some pulldown and rows. With deads at the end my back is already warmed up, pre exhausted, and the deads are a sick compound exercise to finish it all off. You probably won't pull as much, but you are a BBer and #'s don't mean a whole heck of alot.

I do the same with legs - Calves --> Hammies --> Quads

my lower back cant handle them anymore...I am doing stiff legged ones for hams right now, but thats it, not worth the risk to my lower back. Even at those massive weights, my traps, lower back, nothing ever gew from them except forearms since I dont use straps

thanks, the 130s and 140s were special order chrome jobs...you feel like a big boy when you get to play with them
