Trap Overtraining?

Wondering if this is to much for Traps? I do 4 exercises each of 3 sets. My first exercise is seated shrugs, where I lean chest first against an incline bench and do dumbbell shrugs 10-12 reps. Second, is behind the back barbell shrugs, 10-12 reps. Third is Barbell Shrugs without lifting straps, 10-15 reps and last is a heavy set of barbell shrugs w/ straps. I think I may be overtraining traps, but they are my favorite bodypart to work. Thanks the the input.

do u dealifts, clean and press? If not i wouldn't worry about it.
12 sets for traps IMO is a little much. 8 sets would be good. If they are a lagging body part then keep the high reps. Try some deadlifts they hit the traps really good.

I do do deadlifts but on a different day, back day. I do not do clean and presses. Thanks for the input Beast.

You don't need to do that much, try powershrugs. It is an explosive shrug, thier are threads about it at anabolicscience, and competitivemuscle. I would copy and paste it but i am sick as a dog and i just don't feel like it. This is all you really need to do, along with deads on back day. When i started doing these i felt my traps sore from my ears all the way down my back.

Thanks J. I have read about powershrugs but never tried them. I think I'll give them a try next trap day.

if u r doing all that and deadlifts, then you will be overtraining. I would cut down the sets or excercise. You do more sets for your traps then I do for my legs.
