IMO it would be bad for the UFC if:

BJ beats GSP
GSP beats Silva

A guy from a lower weight class should not be beating the champ of a higher weight class.

I said it earlier; love GSP but I would be fearful for him to fight Silva. I would want to say GSP would win and would back him; but I'd have fear for him.

what about when Randy came in and beat Tim Sylvia?
Randy wasn't even a champ at the lower weight class, but it worked out ok.

Everyone hated Tim Sylvia and ANYONE beating Tim would have been seen as a good thing. Tim is an akward looking fighter and was putting on alot of real boring fights. He fought not to lose, but no one could beat him. Randy coming in and tearing Tim apart put a big name guy at the top of the HW division. "Captain America" Randy Couture with the HW belt was great for MMA and the UFC.

BTW, Randy was a HW. He's bounced around between two weight classes.

all his captain america stuff must have happened before i started watching (about 5 years ago) because i hate couture. didnt entertain me when i saw him fight and was an asshole after he won the belt then left because dana couldnt make the fight he wanted happen.

Penn got exactly what he deserved. He called GSP a bitch for tapping and said he was a quitter; who's the bitch now? And now BJ is complaining to the commission that GSP only won due to the Vaseline he was sticking on his back which is being reviewed. This won't overturn the fight but no Vaseline in the world would have changed the outcome.

i just checked the whole event results and i see every fucking fight went to decision except machida and gsp. of those, machida is the only one who actually got to finish the fight. penn pussed out and didnt let gsp finish it.

I really shit the bed on those picks. That was a terrible card overall. Guida is a joke. The Parisyan fight should have been a draw. Machida came out and got the job done. GSP looked amazing.
