Don't know where else to seek information

One of my close close guy friends is only 18, and has been clinically depressed for around a year now, he's tried to kill himself like twice, and self harms and everything. He recently got some steroids, and i think is either just started or started them, he's really insecure and hates himself, so he thinks a nice body will help in the long run, I already read up on most side effects, none of which he will care about really, his look on life is terrible, so I can't his organs are going to go to hell, he won't care,

Im really just wondering, i know steroids cause depression (was reading) but do steroids make depression worse? will it effect that aspect of his life? how do they make you depressed?

Thanks, if anyone can help. Im worried about him, but there's only so much i can do, especially if he doesn't care, he's obsessed with that "zyzz" guy

from all that ive read steroids can cause depression if you do not pct correctly. i definitely think steroids are very wrong for your friend. get him to a dr asap.

depression happens when you have low test in your body

Thanks for posting and welcome to the site. Sorry to hear about your friend. I too suffer from clinical depression and have been treated with prescription meds and lifestyle changes have helped me tremendously. Your friend is definitely too young to use steroids and has no business using them. I wouldn't advice anyone that age to use them. Yes they can be used safely by someone that is old enough and has the knowledge to know how to handle sides when they come up. It is likely that steroids will make your friends condition worse since he has no idea what he's doing. Steroids will shut down your natural production of testosterone and when you stop taking them you have to do whats called a PCT to help kickstart this again. Either way I highly suggest you try to advice your friend not to take them or get him to come on here and post his situation so the guys here can offer him some advice. You can have him PM me and I'll talk to him if you like.

i have bi polar and idk if it was coincedence but my first cycle when going in to PCT was pretty rough mentally for me.

depression comes desorder from neurotransmettor, which could be occured by too much to low androgen.

some other compounds like clomid have the instability of mood in their side effect.

when in depression. no drug at all is the best solution.

i'm listening tons of sad music all the day long, everybody going mad about that, but i do no feel depressed... but if i was on tren-e in hight dose i would avoid to make it.

Thanks guys, I can try, but his mind is like set, he does know a bit about it I guess, he's getting everything from his friend who is like 17, and has been juicing since 15, he want's to be like him for some reason lol, even know the guy's so big it's disgusting, he's like 250 pounds at 17, ew.

You can only do so much to help your friend, if his mind is made up about AAS, there's no convincing him. Show him that you're there for him and try to keep him positive when times are rough.

Thats unfortunate about your friend. Lets just hope he decides to get off the steroids because you cannot be on them forever.

Make sure he does a proper pct.

A prescription like wellbutrin, remeron, etc (by a doctor rx of course)
and some
appointments with the psychologist

should really help him out much more without all the side effects of anabolic steroids.

Sorry about your friend. Not sure what the situation is with his family but if he isnt getting help after two attempts at his age, something is wrong. Faced a similar situation with a friend a few years back who refused help. We had no choice but to assist him involuntarily. It was a rough decision and you should speak to those closest to him, but i know it saved my friends life. Hes doing very well now and thanks us constantly. Doing nothing will lead to a bad result. Good luck.
