uncontrollable back and chest acne?

I have always had back acne and shoulder acne but since ive been on trt its gotten worse and the acne are hard mounds that hurt like hell. Any idea on what would be the cause of this?

That is common. Test aromatizes into estradiol which causes acne (among other problems) when it gets too high. Have you checked your estradiol level recently?

It could also be caused by high DHT. Estradiol could certainly be the cause but in my case, DHT was a bit too high. I'm seeing some results using Nizoral 1% and saw palmetto.

When first doc I went to put me on Clomid, within 2 months I had back acne that was horrible...never really had acne isues even as a teen so it bummed me out. Not wanting to cause a debate, but many recommended I go tan, I was skeptical but honesty within about 2 weeks it had all but cleared up. So take that as you may.

I think their is far more to it then Estradiol. I've noticed if my rang hits 1200-1400 I get big acne that take a week to disappear that's withe E being inline and controlled with arimidex.

If I lower my dose to 140mg/wk and cut back on Arimidex to keep E the same high 20's the acne disppears.

So, while everyone likes to blame Estradiol for every bad thing and blame T for no bad things......I think it's just as much T dependent as E dependent.

Had 2 different doctors, first the urologist that I asked about the acne and he said it's a side effect of testosterone, and then 4 doctors later to the specialist at the big hospital I see know that has me on a real TRT regimen, while going over my history I told him about the clomid and then the back acne, and he said, "oh, so the testosterone was increasing and having affect on your body"...never said anything about estradiol. All I've ever heard compared to was the urologist that said estrogen is a by product of testosterone, as your testosterone level goes so, then so does your estrogen levels, it's just a balance system.

Which makes sense since everybody is getting T numbers into very high ranges, estradiol goes up, so they take aromatase to counter high E conversion...so seems to me testosterone is kind of the root of the evil so to speak.

hmm, I've been on TRT for a few years. No real acne. I recently added HCG to my protocol and within a couple of weeks, my back is a disaster. I abused the shit out of roids when I was a kid and never had acne. My back is a mess. I do take aromasin every other day too. When I 1st started the HCG, my nipples were getting affected so that's when I started on the aromasin full time. The nipple thing went away so could my acne be caused by estradiol? Or is DHT the culprit?
if it's DHT, whats the solution? Do people take shit like propecia for that? Maybe I need to lower the amount of test I am injecting but I really don't want to.
looking for some solid advice.
those who said Nizoral, that's not an OTC oral med is it?

Nizoral 1% is an OTC anti-fungal shampoo. the 2% is by script only. It does block DHT receptors in the skin and works fairly well. I'll take a wash cloth and put some Nizoral and some Head and Shoulders for the Zinc on it and scrub my back and shoulders then let the Nizoral/Zinc shampoo sit on my skin for about 5 mins before rinsing...I'll sometimes wash with benzoyl peroxide soap right before doing that routine...Tea tree oil based soaps are somewhat effective too.

Also, look for Austinite's acne protocol on this forum...very helpful supplement stack.

My .02 on why your back is breaking out is that you added HCG...E2 prob went up...added Aromason...E2 went down...If those were large swings in E2, that is enough to cause some major acne. Everyone responds differently to fluctuations in hormone levels and when E2 goes up like that you're likely to break out. I would stick with the HCG and Aromasin and don't change the dosages unless you have to or labs indicate that you need to change. Fluctuations are the worst thing for acne. Stick with that and give it about 4-6 weeks to see if it improves.
