OK guys.. i promised an update on my trt, so here it is..

i gave bloods yesterday morning.. i inject 100mg cyp monday morning and thursday night.. so i made sure to test thursday morning...

here is exactly what im taking

200mg test cyp (as stated above)
1/2mg adex tuesday and friday

250iu hcg wed and saturday

i am also taking the following daily

2mg copper
100mg dim
50mg zinc
400mg magnesium
Preg 100mg
dhea 50mg
900mg potassium

Here is bloodwork... a few things concern me, i will list them first

RBC 6.09 HIGH 4.14-5.80

BUN 27 HIGH 6-20 MG/DL

BUN/ CREATININE RATIO 25 HIGH 8-19

NOW THE GOOD NEWS

TESTOSTERONE, SERUM 843 348-1197

LH 0.1
FSH 0.2

ESTRADIOL 24.5 7.6-42.6

so my hormone levels look great.. not worried about that part at all..

what does worry me is my kidneys.. my last levels were over 10 points lower on both the bun and bun/c ratio

so now i have to go through a process of elimination..

there are two things happening.. either

A. my protein intake is too high for my kidneys.. i find it unlikely since i have been eating 240-300g protein daily for a while.. even with my last test..

B. one of the supplements i am taking, or a combination of the supplements i am taking is causing the BUN issues..

if anyone has more experience with these supps chime in please...

Looking good brother!!! I like most of your numbers and hopefully you feel the difference in your daily life as well.

Your RBC was high but you donated blood so that should be good now. Also, did the doctor advise you to pin your HCG on those days? I know Dr. Crisler prefers injecting HCG the day before you pin so if you pin Monday and Thursday HCG would be taken Sunday and Wednesday. Just giving you an alternate possibility to look into...if you're feeling good there's no need to change it.

As to your bun and creatinine I wouldn't think it's necessarily your protein intake as that's not that high for a man of your size. It's also not necessarily high enough that I personally would freak out over. I'd def keep monitoring them and keep an eye on them but it could very likely be due to you being dehydrated. Hydration can swing your levels right back to the upper range of the reference limit if it was a hydration issue. Next bloods you do make sure to drink plenty plenty of water the few days leading up to the blood work and see if that helps make a difference.

Iv always wondered the affects of multiple oral vitamins and supplements on the liver. Seams to me that they could b just as harsh as any other oral compound.

i highly doubt its dehydration.. i drink a gallon a day...

though i do recall a very very heavy bjj session the night before.. 3 hours long.. that could have dehydrated me

You didn't donate blood right? Only blood work? Donating a pint of whole blood will lower your rbc for you. I'm betting your afraid of that though. ;-) Also, pound the water before you get tested again and see what your bun/creatine ratio is.

i plan on giving blood at the beg of next month regardless to keep things in line.. so i will make sure to do that

A gallon a day MAY not be enough. For most it will be but I've seen figures ranging from drink 1-1.5L for every 1000cals expenditure and enough water to have 5 clear urinations per day with 2 coming post training (provided you're not taking a multi or B complex which would color your urine). The heavy BJJ session could definitely alter the numbers too.

3J , 20 bucks says it was from your BJJ session the day before. One thing I have observed from being tested over the years is a very strenuous workout 2-3 days before the blood test falsely elevates my kidney levels. I am about 90% sure that is it. The DHEA helps adrenal fatigue patients and all the supps you listed actually aid most people with kidney problems unless taken in excess which you are not. I wouldn't freak. Just don't do a strenuous workout before your blood test. For me, it was a heavy squat workout and it elevated it.

As always sound advice from Rip.

I just want to add 3J that I'm much smaller than you (5'10" ~200lbs and 1 gallon water a day is not enough for me in the winter season let alone the summer. I swear A LOT, I'm very active at work and my training intensity is through the roof. I need on avg around 1.25-1.5gallons a day of water or else I get dehydrated as evidenced by my urine color. Just food for though but I think Rip is into something here.

Thanks Doc. And honestly, I will be the first to say that I don't like taking supplements. I try to get most of my nutrients from food. Not preaching to 3J about this obviously but sometimes I see guys supplementing like 30-40 supplements per day. I personally think that is unnecessary for most and just makes your liver work harder than it needs to. I take my Test, HCG, Aromasin, Thyroid, multi vitamin, NAC, and Fish Oil and that is pretty much it.

that isn't an estradiol sensitive panel so I'd bet your estrogen is too low even if you feel great.

Dangit, between you and Rip in here - I have hardly anything to add. :(

Glad to see such great numbers though 3J! (I second/third the hydration being the issue for your urea/protein anomalies) I'd also lay off the DHEA and pregnenolone as you're on HCG. I would get a panel run a couple weeks after cessation of the two supps to verify if your HCG is allowing you to produce enough without having to spend more money on something you don't need.

My .02c :)

I agree. Did you get the regular or sensitive estradiol assay? If regular, 25 is on the too low side. You are taking a sizeable dose of arimidex for the amount of test you are taking unless you are a big aromatizer. Given your profession, I find it unlikely that you would have a high bf%.

What's the rationale behind taking both DIM and adex?

Actually I aromatize like a bitch. At 500mg my estrogen skyrockets to 170. So I was playing it safe. I'm considering lowering the adex.

another update..

so removing the preg and dhea turned out to be a bad idea.. as soon as i stopped it my sex drive went to shit.. weird, i know...

im back on today and my sex drive is already coming back strong.. so i will continue it but drop my preg to 50mg daily

prob because your estrogen is too low and they were giving you a slight bump.
How do you feel at the levels you posted in your first post, 24 estradiol on the regular panel is pretty low.

sounds like you are doing well....which is good!
major symptom of low T for me was waking up each morning with consistent fatigue even after 9 hours of corrective sleep with CPAP machine. Now after at least 5-6 hours I'm jumping out of bed each morning....
Any Doc who tells their patient to live with Low T deserves the worst karma in life and I hope they get it!!!!
