warm up

hey, just curious as to what i should do for my warm up sets..

my bench press is not that much, so my work sets will prob be like 170 lbs ..

for my warm up, i usually like to get in 3 -4 sets.

should i go with maybe 3 sets of just the bar and 1 set of maybe .. 100 lbs ..

or should i keep increasing my weight till i hit 170 ?
 
just get a good weight you could do at least 12 reps with, something to get your blood pumping but not strain yourself. that works well for me. lighter is always better than too heavy though imo.
 
if I go heavy (4-6reps) I warm up with about 5 sets.

1st: just the bar@15reps
2nd: 50% of the weight I'm going to push later@10reps
3rd: 60%@3-5reps
4th: 70-75%@1rep
5th: 80% or even 85%@1rep

Then 2 to 3 working sets, going to mf on 2 sets.

ahhhh.... young grass hopper. have you strayed from the light back into the darkness?
stretch out before warm ups. 10 min minimum.
bar for 10 to 12
95 for 5 or 6
135 for 1 or 2
worksets
