but if the gov't did legalize it they would be collecting a untapped tax market. plus the prices we are paying now would more than likely drop and the quality of the gear would be beter. it would be a win win situation for the government and the public.

Because the legislative branch of the government fell to the lunacy of political correctness. In a nutshell, studies started popping up condemning Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) as dangerous compounds and detrimental to one's health - yeah, right (just like the ephedra stories all over the place right now). Ignorant government officials took the stories that backed-up their feelings on the subject, completely ignoring more scientificially accurate studies which opposed their already made-up opinions, and went crying to the legislature and deemed ALL AAs's a danger to all of humankind. Hence, the birth of the Controoled Substance Act and the demise of easily obtainable traing aids.


The PC part comes in to play when you try to expalin away the fact that all the fags out in San Francisco who want to get their dicks lopped off and take estrogen so they can turn themselves into ugly bitches are able to obtain the stuff with ease, and with the blessing of physicians and government officials everywhere, and more importantly, HAVE IT PAID FOR BY THE TAXPAYERS. Imagine if the government would have lumped those individuals in with the ones like us who take hormones fore more legitimate, but, in the eyes of the government, infinitely more vile and despicable, reasons. The homo lobby would freak the fuck out and any politician who opposed them would not have a job very much longer. I'm sickening myself just typing this shit.

While I fully agree with your intentions it just can't be done. There will always be someone who will ruin it for the rest of us. And at this point there are too many boards and not enough control.
