Weight Belt and Knee tape

Ok, This question has probably been asked several times, i did do a search but really didn't find an answer.

Please forgive me if it is a dumb question.
At what point do you start taping your knees and using a weight belt?

Allot of threads define to use one when your lifting heavy. Define Heavy, some guys say 300 other say 400. Or is it just dependent on how you feel or at the point when your form may start to suffer from the amount of weight your lifting?

1st off you dont tape your knees , you wrap them with knee wraps. i got smarter when i got older and used a belt for heavy triples - singles.
the problem with belts is 90% of the people use them wrong . get a quality powerlifting type belyt and learn to use it properly. i dont reccomend cranking a belt down super tight , set it medium tight and then press out against the belt with your midsection . practice this at home and learn to use a belt properly.

I use an inzer, but not a lever. Make sure you get the right size, and don't buy a belt that has a big fat section in the back and tapers in the front. It should be the same width all the way around.

I always use a belt, especially when doing squats or deadlifts when going heavy. I guess for me I have used it so long its a comfort thing for me. DaDawg pretty much answered your question so I'm with him on that

I order a 10mm Inzer on Thursday with the lever, Ill post a pic of it when it arrives

nice choice .remember this isnt some health club belt made for looks , its the real deal and it will require some breaking in and getting used to.

Regarding the knee wraps. I have 2.5 meter Super Heavy wraps from elitefts.com... I squat mid 5's and start wrapping my knees around 405. Knee wraps also take a bit getting used to.
