Last Thursday afternoon I went down hard. Was at the computer and felt quezy so I figured I would go down stairs and sit on the couch. At the top of the stairs I got a huge heat wave come over my body and a burning in the center of my chest. I sat down on the second step at the top of the stairs, woke up 5 mins later at the bottom of the stairs. I had no clue where I was or what was going on. Covered in sweat and shaking but couldn't move for a minute or 2. Couldn't see when I opened my eyes for about 30 seconds then things started to focus in.
Ended up in the emergency where they hooked me to a heart monitor and began to monitor me. in the last 3 days I went through non stop test after test after test, everything from a cat scan, ecg, eeg, and don't really know the other names of em, basically everything to do with the head and heart. The end of the first night I was feeling better but they wanted to find the cause apparently and kept me there to run the tests. The hospital was full so there were no beds so for 3 days I got to sleep in a stretcher in the emergency room. Today the nurses pulled my IV and disconnected the heart monitor as they said I should be fine to go as my heart was showing no abnormalities and nothing was seen in the test by what they could see. Anyways they called the doctor in as I wanted to leave and the doc was not scheduled again until monday. The doc comes in and tells me that she wants me to stay there in the emergency for the weekend so she can rerun all the tests again to make sure they didn't miss anything. I told her if I stayed in the emergency for another 4-5 days and not in a room I would lose my sanity so I had to sign papers for refusal of treatment and left. What a health system we have. They couldn't tell me what happened. Fuck me.
But I did learn that its true you shrink with age, I went from 5'10 to 5'8.5..... Also learned that they could care less about your nutrional needs as fuck me the plates you get are so fucking small, scrambled eggs I think was made with 1 egg and a piece of toast like what the fuck... I think the total calories I ate combining the dinner and supper wasn't even what I usually have for breakfast. lost almost 10 pounds in 3 days.... 198 to 189 grrrrrr..
