Title says it what are some of the pros and cons of doing 2 a days? should you even do 2 a days should you only do 2 a days on majors muscles such as back chest and legs or what?

There are very few individuals in this world that are genetically gifted enough to benefit from 2 bodybuilding workouts/day. I'd say the most limiting factor is fatigue of the nervous system. You may be able to produce some gains by using 2adays selectively or for relatively short periods of time but at some point your cns will be so fatigued you'll have trouble functioning at all. Overtraining sneaks up quickly and most of the time without warning. One day you feel great(especially on gear) and the next your just flat. No gas in the tank. No drive. Its a weird feeling.

If you really want to experiment with it, do it in moderation and set a cut off date and stick to it no matter how good you feel. I wouldn't reccomend it at all though.

When you overtrain, the time it takes to recover "costs" more then the benefits of the extra work.

I agree with Mason. It really just depends on what your trying to acheive with your present goals. If your wanting to get big and huge 2 days is just not going to work. However, if your looking to just maintain and get some exercise in without much gains or very slow gains then 2 days could be good for your schedule.

Thus, just depends on what your trying to achieve. Girls love 2 days!!!!!!!!!

Not many of the people on this board have the genetic ability, amount of drugs, or time to devote to recovering(sleeping) as Jay Cutler.

Jay Cutler also doesn't do bb bench presses either. I'm still going to do them though.

Doing 2adays is possible, hell Arnold did it.
But Arnold was a freak. Bodybuilding consumed his life as it does Jay Cutlers. Most of us however, need to work, spend time with family, meet obligations, etc. Nor are we at the level of training that would allow our body to handle it.

Sorry, but that example just does not apply to 99.xxx% of humans.

lmao not to be a ball buster... but I dont think not even 90% of the people on this forum will be like Cutler. By all means if you want to do 2 a days an experiment with it... go for it. More power to ya if it works

This guy who wrote this thread obviously has the time.

He may have the time to train, yes.
Can he sleep 12-15 hrs a day?
Does he have the means to afford the amount of gear needed?
Can he eat the amount of food required?

Anyways, just my opinion I guess. Go ahead and try it.

i think if you were going to do a 2 a day i would do your heavy lifting first and then the second workout focus on cardio HIIT and abs. I know have a tuff workout the last thing i want to do is hit the elliptical or do abs. Having more energy to do these things later could result in a great ab and cardio workout!
