You do know that this is a 8 year old thread?count your calories. simple, and easy, and you will literally see the numbers of how much weight you are losing. if you need to ask anymore question on that, you should be able to google paleo diet. cals in vs cals out = diet. you can thank me later
Of course if you just do diet and cardio, you're probably going to lose some lean mass too. It probably goes without saying, but you should keep hitting the weights at the same time to help minimize loss of lean body mass.
I've heard of a lot of people getting good results from UD2.0, if you can survive it anyway.
