What did old body builders take?

these threads pop up all the time "i wanna be like mentzer" so ill take what they took.......truth is while the drugs helped these guys it was there heart and dedication that drove them to have the physiques they had.......
you can achieve the same look whilst using the cyles we run today
so i fail to see this fascination with the drug cycles of yesteryear.........
but it sure brings back a great time in bodybuilding the true "golden era"
truth be known id much rather hear about what dorian yates took to look like a half prize bull /half man with the striations of a pedigree race horse.....lol...

dorian is great but i bet a lot of what he took would be really hard on hte health.
