Low volume and heavy ass weights keep my blood sugar in check, on a leg day I bring in Gatorade, sometimes back day also. My occasional training parter is a diabetic so I can check my blood sugar, expect to lose about 80+ points on a heavy day, which means you need a good carb up beforehand.

When your blood sugar dips below around 80 you start to feel really shitty and want to puke, when it gets to about 50 you slur, it should be 100-120ish normally.

If I were doing slin (a glucose disposal agent) I'd definitely want my own Glucometer.

Total agreement with insane, CNS is key; 3 times a week quite doable without the juice if keeping the sets relatively low but hi-intensity. I go about 7 sets/muscle, three times a week.

Insane, what's your take on twice a week/muscle vs. three?

I would prefer higher frequency to lower. For example, if I couldn't handle a certain workout 3X a week I would lower the volume rather than drop to 2X per week.

Ideally I would load every second day, but 7 day weeks mess me up and it would just be inconvinient. Plus having weekends off is OK :)
