What is a reason you can ask your doctor for blood test for steriods

So re-requested the correct labs now they are giving me a hard time and asking for a reason as to why i need these tests.

Should i say it has just been a while or that i need them because i am taking testosterone? Maybe problems in bed?

these are the tests i requested and they said they are unusal

Red blood cell count (RBC)
Glucose
Blood Urea Nitrogen
Creatinine
Cholesterol
AST
ALT liver
LH (luteinizing hormone)
FSH (follicle stimulating hormone)
Total testosterone
Free testosterone
Estradiol

Are you trying to have insurance cover the cost? I went through that with my dr. Wanted to play 20 questions. Told him to fuck off and I just pay for my tests.

I gave a list of low test symptoms and got bloodwork done right away. Insurance pays for my blood tests......I pay for everything else.

I was told they won't even do the female test ie Estradiol but they will do the others and i might have to pay for some of them if my insurance does not cover it.

Not sure where you live. I am in the United states. I have been to several general practitioners and they all were willing to take blood for testosterone and for estrogen......these results are not the female panel but they can still be helpful. The dr files it with insurance and states that the tests were needed.....and insurance covers 100% If I want further testing I can go to a D.O. or i can go to any private lab and get any tests i want for a reasonable fee. The dr i have now specializes in trt and all my labs are covered 100% when I go to him.
Always best to say you want to know what your hormone levels are. If asked why then say you are concerned about low testosterone and just want to find out if all your levels are as they should be. Insist.......or find a new dr.
Hope this helps bro

Tell them your taking evil prohormones. I just tell my doctor that I'm on the sauce and he gives all the blood work needed and then some.

I did let my doctor know about my use. This just a few years ago. I went to another Endo and she did the lab on my test level. My total test was >7,000 ng/dL. I asked her to just work with me and do Blood work for me.... SHIT NO, No and Mr.Mike i cannot and will not see you again.

My internal MD sent me to an Endo within the firm and he said NO. My doc gives me a lil grief but said he just will not take a chance with Medicare and DEA. I'm on my own. I went to use Private med lab.

OMM

he cant, if he says hes on gear it goes on his paperwork for life and there go his insurance premiums.
How do you do it in Canada?

I've heard this a lot.....is this true?!? I thought these things could be discussed with a specialist without it interfering. I understand it could make your life insurance more expensive. But my health insurance company doesnt even care if I'm an alcoholic.....do they really care about hormones?!? Really sucks if this is true of all insurance companies.
