The bottom line is too many doctors will use the "average man" test and if your numbers are in the range of 400 - 800 ng/dl for total and 70 - 120 pg/ml for free, they will tell you "your numbers look good."
Well, don't settle for being the "average man." That is the problem with our society as a whole. Being "average" has become the goal!
That is totally f'ed up in my opinion! I had two different doctors tell me my numbers were "normal" at 579 ng/dl.
Hey, I've never been normal in my whole life - that is why I am as successful as I am today.
I finally had to make the case to my urologist that "normal" was not where I need to be. I had blood work over many years to show my normal test range was between 800 - 1100.
After going over all the published research and putting together a PowerPoint presentation on my goals (I shit you not, I took one of my laptops into his office and ran the presentation for him) he agreed to work with me on my current protocol.
Long story short, don't let your doctors benchmark you based on the "average man" standard unless you only hope to be average.
