Guess what i just heard from a very reliable source. Chad nichols( ronnie colemans nutritionist) and many others tell their bodybuilding clients to take 2 months off completely from training after they get done with their shows. They arent even allowed to touch a weight. This is supposed to shock the muscles big time when they go back to training again. has anyone heard of this. I would like to hear what your opinions on this are. What do ya think?

i heard ronnie takes some time off after a show. Makes sense cuase in the grand scheme of things 8 weeks of rest and eating isnt going to effect these genetic freaks.

Some do it and some don't - I'll see chad in July at his show and ask him what he thinks. Ronnie Does it because of age anymore I think.

Scott Abel is the one you are talking about though it sounds like.

ill have to consult flex magazine about this one.
lol
but seriously, whether it's 2 mths or 1 mth, time off to let muscles heal and to get the mind fresh too is always a good idea. i think ronnie does it with a similar thought in mind as do PLs who "deload" every few weeks.

I could see Ronnie taking off two months, but some of the lesser guys compete so often throughout the year i would think they would not be able to pull if off.

Giving your muscles a break does work. I take about 2 weeks off after wrestling season and i notice my body has recoverd a lot from not practicing as well as not lifting.

My weights and strenght seems to go down but i top them over the original very soon after it seems.
