What TT levels does your doctor shoot for (USA, Canada, where ever)??

OK I'll open this up to anyone on TRT. I need some help ASAP. What TT level does your doctor allow you to have? Is a cut-off at 800 unreasonable?
Thanks

Once again, I thank you Megatron. I'm trying to get an idea of what other doctors do, before I go back in and talk to him tomorrow.

Any knowledgeable physician should aim to put you in the upper quartile of the reference range, with other hormones at an optimal place.

A couple months ago he said, we were shooting for 1000. Then today he lies to me and tells me i'm above 1000 and I need to reduce dose. (I was 860.)
Normal Range for healthy and unhealthy is up to 800 in Canada, if that is the range you speak of.

Turn the table on your doc. I can't tell you how many times I have been told Normal means Normal regardless of where it fall in the range. Tell them you prefer the upper end of the normal range since it makes no difference.

My cardiologist wants me at least at 800. That's why he discontinued testim and prescribed me injectible. My primary was happy when one of my labs came back at 455. Both want me on test therapy however. I'm lucky to have good docs in the area - though my primary isn't as knowledgeable about test therapy as my cardiologist.

I wish it was that easy. My Doctor is now trying to get my TT down to 800, which is the top of Normal. Note: the average normal range in Canada is 300 to 400 less than in the USA (800 versus 1100 or 1200), which is just different lab procedures, I assume. There's no logic in it, unless our nuts are getting frost bite from the cold more often than in the USA. (just trying to show how stupid that is.)

However Average normal is not the "optimized" amount, meaning an amount which more in line with a very healthy person. Optimized is generally though of as between 800 and 1200.

Any replies I get here gives me a better idea of what treatment I should be getting.

I have a meeting tomorrow, so I'd appreciate info from anyone who knows what TT their doctor is shooting for.

Is Apollon out there? I know he's a very knowledgeable Canadian that has gone thru hell and back.

You are no where near 1000 ng/dl.
Your doc is looking out for him....not for you.
I sit at 830 ng/dl 2 days from shot. I do E3D shots of 60 mg. I have been a bit higher
...but really no need to go that high. Just more problems with hemo, hair loss, prostate etc.
Depends on the person too man. Some guys need to be at
1000 ng/dl.
What type of doc r u seeing?
I had one that was happy with me at 383 ng/dl and said I was fine. Fact of the matter is unless you know your stuff from your end regarding TRT. ...
These guys can dick u around and leave u with even worse issues like untreated elevated estradiol.
I've seen it all in the great white north bro.
Read my posts from 2013.

My Dr. was fine with my reading in the 1000 range for total, but wanted to keep an eye on my free. He didn't give me the results and I forgot what my free was, but it was higher than he really wanted. Said we would check again in 3months and then adjust from there.
