I just joined a different gym about 5 months ago and love it. Very hard core. Nothing pretty about it. Just tons and tons of weights.

a member at the damned campus Gym....its brand new...but damn, it sucks ass....the only reason i go there is coz the hot babes go there and i let em drool at the sight of me workin out....good way to show off

Hardcore dungeon is the best way to descibe the atmosphere at our gym. Good supply of free weights and some machines. People are serious about lifting, they do not wear designer workout clothes and the owner keeps the place clean and he freaks out if people do not put weights away. No macho posturing is allowed, everyone helps everyone, no personal trainers or aerobics instructors. The only frou-frou thing is evening yoga classes on Sundays and I find this necessary at the end of a hard week.

In between. I lift at a nice place, its a pretty large full service gym with heavy db's and pretty much allows for PL type movements. (if you've ever tried to dead at a fairy gym you know how bitchy they can get) Couple juice heads and a few amatuer bb's as well.

yeah, when I was still lifting at the campus rec, they got to where they were making me do deads with those little square balance foam deals underneath the weight. Provided a HUGE bounce, so I had to increase my working weight by like 45lbs over what it shoulda been. In retrospect (saying this like it HASN'T only been 3 weeks since then, lol), it probably helped me out a little, b/c I was able to feel what that weight felt like, so that now I'm almost up to that level with real iron and lifts from the floor.

Stnadard Gold's gym meat market with lots of drama. Lots of ILS guys (Inflated Lat Syndrome) and teenage gals with shorts so small you can see their pooters!!

But with my headphones on and being one of the bigger guys in there, I stay to myself!!

Not enough choices on your poll. It's a Powerhouse franchise, but I would rate is somewhere between Hard Core and Country Club.

I defintely know what Dougoefre5h and spikeylizard are talking about...I litterally introduced deadlifts to my gym! now there are ILS freaks there tryin to get into it...They bitch at me for using chalk (which i ignore em) and they always tell me to quiet down when im doin rack pulls

This is what I can't stand about these guys. You know, there is a shirt i saw that says "Leave me the f*** alone!!" I definitely think I want that shirt.

I workout at a hardcore gym on the south side of Chicago and I love it. I guess that's all I know because I went and checked out a full service health club and hated it. It's just too pretty for me. I felt out of place. Good music and a hardcore gym is all I need to get big.

I was looking for a hardcore gym in my area, and reluctantly went to a 24hour fitness. you know, the kind of place that encourages you to wear matching adidas gear (they seel it on the racks NO SHIT!) with adidas footwear, head bands, and 12 eliptical machines,,, anyway,,, for 799 (plus tax) i got 1 year paid, I get the following 2 years free, and every year thereafter is a 20 doller re-sign fee. so after 5 years ive paid 799+61 (tax) +40 (last two years) = $900
15 years = $1100
25 years = $1300

if youve never been to a 24hour fitness, its exactly what it sounds like,,, 24/7 they are open! depending on what package you get, you have access to ALL thier gyms (west coast and over to like WY or summat) some have pools, courts, saunas, some are basic and to the point. they also (mine anyway) has 150lbs dumbells, and at least 6 sets of benches,,, and ive seen some big ass fools eating steel plates,,, so they serve up apple AND orange juice in there somewhere!

ok ok ok , I am done,,, they aint paying me for this shit (yet).
