Gold's has not been hardcore since the 70's. If you live in a decent sized metropolitan area there has to be at least one hardcore gym around. I occasionally pop in at a powerhouse or a gold's but it is not really what I am looking for in a gym. Too many distractions-(decent looking women). The few women at our gym are basically just as hardcore as any of the guys thus not a distraction at all.

Hardcore dungeon is the best way to descibe the atmosphere at our gym. Good supply of free weights and some machines. People are serious about lifting, they do not wear designer workout clothes and the owner keeps the place clean and he freaks out if people do not put weights away. No macho posturing is allowed, everyone helps everyone, no personal trainers or aerobics instructors. The only frou-frou thing is evening yoga classes on Sundays and I find this necessary at the end of a hard week.

where is this gym at? i wish i can find a gym like that bro! thats like a different world.

i train at powerhouse in the city, i hate the macho shit that comes from many of the dudes, which is why i wish i can find a hardcore dungeon like huskyguy. just starting today with squats after a year off!

Clint's Home Health and Fitness Center

No heat or air, no fans, no electricity.
2 rooms, 1 has my power rack and deadlift bar and the other is being used for storage at the moment.

Average gym, a franchise. I wont vote because there are not enough options, its not a total puzzy warehouse but its not hardcore either.

Good hardcore gyms are becoming more and more rare every day, most people want the glitz, and face it most hardcore gyms are not impressive looking. If you live in a decent size city, you should still be able to find a hardcore gym.

I live in a small town, so its just a regular small gym, only thing it lacks that I wish it had was dumbells that don't skip 5 pounds, i.e. 60,65,70, I want 62.5's so I can do 5x5 stuff with dumbells.
