Have you had success with a full body workout 3 times a week? I met a guy that does this hoist some decent weight and has pretty good development(5'11"-6'0" 230lbs and lean). He says he does 2 sets of 2 exercises per major bodypart and 2 sets of 1 exercise per smaller bodypart, except calves. He said he started training like this 6-7 years ago and hasn't changed it since. Has anyone had any luck with this??

Thats all I ever did for like lets see 7 or 8 years, pull-ups powercleans, deadlifts, bench, military press, abs shit and some exercieses i made up on my own, worked awesome, onyl bad thing is hard tog et a good leg workout in, but i was riding my bike alot and running about 30 miles a week

imo if your looking to get serious growth a full body routine 3 times a week will NOT get the job done.

i feel you need to focus on individual body parts on different days. its the only way you will beable to work them the way they should be to get your maximum growth

Full body routines are good for guys new to lifting to learn form and get the body used to exercise (I used one for the first 6mo or so back in HS; just did a set or two on each Nautalis and then gradually mixed in DB and barbells)... but you really won't gain a whole lot and will plateau out quickly. They take so long, and intensity just isn't good halfway into them.

Total body workouts and compound exercise workouts like that one bro above mentioned are two different things, though.

i am running an upper body workout 2 days a week and a lower body workout 2 days a week. It is basically all compound exercises and seems to be working well, although i won't be able to judge until i have been clean for a few weeks.
