In terms of the why at night, i just choose not to take it cause well yeh people think that it is needed for the repair process but at night when u're metabolism drops waaaaaaayyy down, what u're doing is converting that protein to fat storage as well since you're main energy supply has been depleted...the best time to take it is early in the morning. That way the % absorption and conversion to "rebuilding" protein is higher ad it's not "wasted".
it does.Tafman said:why doesnt it digest slower? u sound like u did good in science class and poorly in english class
You're exactly right....of course milk is going to digest slower than slimine liquids.I'll eat 2 tables of peanut butter and 1 scoop ON protein powder in about 6 ounces of milk....10 grams from the PB and 23 grams from the ON whey.LOVE IT!Suareezay said:it does.
the rate at which protein is digested is similar to the GI scale for carbs, which measures the effect on blood glucose and insulin levels. Potato chips, for example, have a lower GI than whole potatos mainly due to the fat acquired during the cooking process. It slows the rate of absorption into the bloodstream. The added fat and carbs in milk will have the same effect on whey. Not to mention the fact that milk has its own casein protein.
