Why do my muscles shake after working out hard?

My muscles shake after working out hard. For example, after arm day, if I hold my hand out it shakes, I cannot hold it steady. It goes away after a bit of time. I am not really worried about it, but I am interested in knowing why it happens. I know it is due to heavy exertion, due to exhaustion of the muscle - but what actually causes the shake?
 
I've had muscle spasm every now in then, mainly in my biceps. it happens on and off but I've never really worried about it, just figured it was normal after training.
Are you saying hydrated enough? Not sure if it's related but I get real bad cramps in my calves after a hard training especially if i'm not drinking enough water.
 
Definitely staying hydrated, after learning from this forum that I was not drinking enough water before and during the workout.

Thanks for the links, since I am staying hydrated and I know I am pushing myself very hard (3J's reverse pyramid), then that is my answer - I am just working out very hard and not to worry about it. Unless it starts to happen during a workout, in which case I need to back down to prevent loss of control and hurting myself.

its funny the initial reaction i get from some of my clients about the reverse pyramid setup.. they come back with "that is? its so short.. i wont get a workout out of this"

then their tone changes after the first day.. lol

remember guys, its about the quality of time that you put in over the quantity..
 
It is ANYTHING but easy! Oh sure, the reverse pyramid can be made easy...all I would need to do is cut the weight in half and poof, it becomes easy. But since I do each rep to almost failure (the next rep or two would be failure) it is very hard. I am just relieved I am not hurting myself. Time to add some greens to my post work out meal. I love the bitter taste of raw kale and it comes in HUGE FRICKEN BAGS! I will snag some. Will work as a snack as well to pull me away from snaking on peanut butter.
