work out every other day

is it ok to work out intensively every other day to get beneficial muscle gain?? instead of every day because i wanna do cardio every other dasy as well.
 
Pullinbig is right, you need time to recuperate. 3 to 4 times a week is best for making gains, too much of a good thing will keep you from making gains.
 
thats good to know because i was working out 6 days a week. but this was because i was doing one muscle group a day. so should i now do two a day??

d1
quads/calves

d2
chest shoulders tris

d3
back hams bis forearms

cardio and abs on off days.

stick to the basics. squats, deads, bench, shoulder presses, heavy back work. works everytime.
