Wrist Injury

Was doing Preacher Reverse Curls heavy
Left wrist just kind of gave out on me during a rep.

Left a sore feeling.
(Next day)When I rotate my wrist, the sore feeling comes back. Also, when pressure is applied in certain positions, the feeling is there.
(The affected area is on the outer side of my wrist (palm down))

Ideas on what happened?
What to do? (Ice it?)

Staying out of the gym for a week isn't really an option (besides, it doesn't feel like an injury that warrents that)

Thanks in advance

I injured my wrist doing the same exact exercise. It had been bothering me on and off for the last few months since it's happened. My doctor was positive that it was just a mild sprain. I laid off of lifting for a week or more, but have gotten back into it since. I wrap my right wrist now, and also put a brace on. Hopefully someone else can comment on this, cause I'm curious to know whether it may be somethin more serious.

i hurt my wrists (both) about a week after my first cycle. i was armwrestling and obviously not used to that kind of strain on my wrists. so i just laid off the workouts for about 2 weeks (athletic trainer at SEC football complex told me to) and i was fine.
re adjitated it last month freakin bowling! but its not as bad so im stil lifting.
so i guess u just gotta rest it for a while. imo

go get it checked out, it could be your tendon that was affected...if the pain goes up and down your forearm and wrist, its most likely the tendon. its not used to lifting heavy weight in that awkward position....ice when you feel its sore.... also try dumbells instead, less restriction

Get it checked. I had the same thing and let it linger.....as it turns out, I tore some cartilage in my wrist. I eventually had surgury where the doctor made 3 tiny holes in my wrist (one for a camera and two for the arthroscopic instruments). He filed down the sheath of cartilage that I tore and smoothed it out. I was back in the gym within two weeks doing light weights.....and within 6 weeks of the surgury, I was back at full strength.
Now, a year and half later, my wrist feels great.

Fix it now, rather than later.

Ice and compression. Take time off (couple weeks) of doing curls, presses, etc. and just do lifts that don't put pressure on the wrist (i.e. SQUATS). Brace/tape it next time.
