** Yes, another "My Girlfriend wants..."

At the risk of boring the regulars with another, "My Girlfriend wants..." thread. I'm sorry to ask, but I'm trying to gauge consensus on favored core exercises for a female.

She is a Yoga instructor with an advanced practice over a decade strong, but she has recognized she just doesn't have the strength required to advance through some of the more challenging asana she's now encountering. She has never engaged any resistance training, and she is looking to me for guidance.

Obviously, I can spit out a list with a myriad of variations of crunches & leg raises, but I'm curious... what do you ladies like?

I took the risk of being boring, but I had hoped at least one woman would chime in. It's been 10 days without a response.

I'm still curious what specific exercises you ladies really resonate with to strengthen your cores. Contextually, the goal is to strengthen for advanced yogasana, but regardless, your favorites are your favorites. Anyone care to share?

ex-partner who I was with for quite a few years did ballet for most of her life. I'm sure we could find paralletl attitudes to stretching and core work.

For core she would change things up each week between:
decline sit ups
one arm planks
one arm one leg planks
oblique plank holds
hyperextensions
leg raises
ab wheel rollouts (whilst on her knees rolling forward and back)
boce ball crunches
ab bridges (lifting off 1 leg at a time as she progressed)
hanging leg raise to toes touching bar
pushups using different hand placements (wider and narrower, higher vs lower)

however, she was doing 4 days at the gym a week
1/ push day
2/ pull day
rest day
3/ push day
4/ pull day

with dance usually being BEFORE she went to the gym

KILLER <> Thank you kindly for your extending your ex's preferences. I hadn't thought about the Bosu Ball, and I forgot about bridges!

Still would love to hear direct from any ladies of whom would like to offer their favorites... and why.
