You guys use wraps or straps etc?

Also the back can handle much more stress and strain than the forearms. You can give your back a much better workout if you take the forearm out of the equation.

ehh, I don't know about that. I think straps are some what of a crutch. Ive used them, I don't like them, I wont say I lose respect if someone uses them because that's just dumb, but to an extent I think youre cheating yourself using straps. having big back #'s and having no real world forearm strength is kind of counter productive in my opinion

straps for heavy deadlifts. traps for heavy squats :) and a right knee wrap for heavy squats, to support from an skateboarding injury.

I lift 100% raw. The grip is part of the lift always has and always will be. It sounds so much better to tell someone I bench 600 instead of 450 or deadlift 700 instead of 595 but I know all of you out there know in your hearts how strong you really are without suits, shirts, or silly straps. Straps are only cheating yourself. We don't lift because its easy. Like I said if you cant lift it, train for it.

That's nice. Equipment has it's place, personally I'd rather rep heavier deadlifts with straps; while I also work on forearm strength for the 80% of sets that I don't wear straps, than short change my back workout because I'm too proud to admit my grip isn't where it needs to be to do multiple reps of my heaviest working sets.

Your opinion speaks volumes about your attitude and maturity level!

Respect is probably a word you shouldn't use till you understand it!

Everyone has different goal I started do out just lifting to get better at sports when I was younger. We had a wrestling coach Bach in the day that was really hardcore and he would run the weight room, and he wouldn't even let us bring straps in the room. When I got older I just never used them. As always viewed it as cheating. When I was in college I lifted more like a bodybuilder and hung out more with those type of people. I lifted hard and put in my time but it seamed like there egos always got in the way of helping a younger guy. But I kept my chin up and kept lifting hard, doing my own research and tons reading and one day an old powerlifter came over and gave me some pointers. Sense then I've been doing more and more powerlifting and found the core group that were helpful and in it as a lifestyle not a sport. These guys put up some huge weights and worked hard for it, never wore any straps just blood sweat and tears. So I guess I can see if someone want straps to further push there back because your training more for only certain group of muscles. I guess I was more looking at it from a power lifters stand piont.

Understood ! And I respect you for coming back on and explaining your position. Some see AAS as "cheating" . I feel it's just another supplement I use to reach my goals. So all things can be viewed different ways.

Mueller neoprene elbow sleeves for all pressing and weighted dips...
Arthritic elbows, they need all the support they can get!
