20 rep squats and leg press vs squat

No on the leg press versus squats, this program works because although primarily a leg exercise, squats are an overall body exercise. Especially when one does 20 reps your entire body is taxed heavily, leg press would not have the same effect. I am doing a 20 rep squat routine now and it is very difficult, but a great program.
 
I currently do a simple 3x5 with squats, and then hit a 20 rep set on the LP.

20 rep squats are THE hardest thing you'll hope to do. Its dangerous though at heavy weight, when form goes to shit things can get scary. Plus the whole body tax is big - I usually cant take it. Thats where something like the LP comes in handy mixed with some heavy squatting its a win win.
 
I am currently doing squats in the rep range of 6-10

I used to do 20 rep squats and they would beat the shit out of me. You feel like you just got done sprinting a mile.

I use heavier weights now with the lower reps, but guess which program I saw the better growth with...


20 REP SQUATS!!!

If you can muster up the balls to rep out 20's, DO IT!!!!!!!!!!
 
Leg pressing barely touches my quads at all, so they are not a complete leg workout for me if used. 20 repper squats beat on my fucking spine, I dont like them myself.

Lately I dig the hacks because they do hit my quads hard, so I do them after my main leg movement.
 
admittedtly, the 155x20 that I did made me so sick, that the entire time after that, was hell for me. it's like...i could already go home after doing that. I mean, that could be it. my legs/back/abs and entire body is fucked the days after. so yeah, 166x20 coming up next this wednesday

i love hacks...make my quads burn with out burning sensation in my spine for days after
 
Im doing some 20 repper's with the DC program im doing. . . I simply cannot go that high in squats, my knees start to crumble at around 12 or 13...i do them for stiff leg deads. Def feel the burrrrn
