A few newb questions on needles and syringes

Hi All,

I'll be starting a first cycle soon, done a bunch of research on the gear I'm ordering, and will follow up 2 months after starting with some bloodwork to see where I'm at.

Anyhow, I'm kind of confused on how needles work. I'm new to self injecting, but from what I've geathered, I'll eventually get used to it anyways.

So, I'll be using testosterone cypionate, not sure if that matters, twice a week (125 mg x 2) and Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) 500 ui once a week in between.

Now, if I did the math correctly, I will need 3 syringes, and 6 needles total(per week)?

18G to pull the fluids into the syringe. and 23G to inject?

Also, am I required to sterilize the needles or syringe before use? I will be using new needles and syringes every time to avoid contamination, and will also order in bulk to make sure I always have them ready onhand, but should I sterilize new needles/syringes anyways?

Also, how does injection protocol work? Do I need to purchase rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs before injecting into the desired area? I'm very new to all of this, so any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

OH! one more thing, the difference between 1" and 1.5" needles? what do you all recommend I go with? I want to do this properly since I'm planning this all out. Thanks.

Just to break all of this down into question-format, I think it will help get my answers much more efficiently.

1. 1" or 1.5" needles? Which should I get or does it not matter?

2. Rubbing alcohol? Is it needed to sterilize injection site prior to injecting the needle?

3. Do I generally need two needles per syringe? 18G to pull and 23G to inject?
So, if I order 100 syringes, I will need 200 needles?

4. does 1 CC equal 1 ml? Are 5 CC syringes generally a waste? Should I look for 1 CC syringes if possible?

Thanks again, fellas!

1. 1.5" needles for the glutes, 1" for the delts and quads.

2. Yes, use rubbing alcohol to wipe the top of the vials and also to clean the injection site before injection.

3. Yes, two needles per syringe, I personally pull with a 23g, it takes a lil' longer but works just the same. An 18g needle is pretty big and can chew the top of your vial up after a few pulls. This could possibly chunk off a small piece of rubber that could get sucked up into the syringe and injected which would cause an infection.... no good. Chances of this are slim but why take a chance.

4. Yes, 1cc=1ml.
I personally use 3ml syringes, they're easy to find. 5ml is too much but it'll work.

Oh and don't worry about sterilizing a brand new needle and syringe. They've already been sterilized.
As far as injection protocol, look it up on youtube theres bunch of videos showing you how to inject safely.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Hi Smoke. Relax about injecting. It's really, really easy. I'd recommend doing it in the delts, and use a 25g needle - i use 3/4 inch, though I only inject 0.5ml And draw it with an 18g or whatever. in order to make it easy to inject with a 25g warm the syringe to maybe a bit above body temp. For a change I can speak from very recent experience of beginning with this and I can't feel the needle at all. I got a couple of immunisations from the doc yesterday with 21g - the difference was remarkable! They hurt!

(As I said, recent newbie experience.)

Edit: mention "cycle" here and it's an on-again, off-again thing, whereas what you are doing is testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). It isn't a cycle, it's or life - in more ways than one.

Re swabs: I got a box of about a million of the for 50 cents, and I never exaggerate. And the doc doesn't swab when doing immunisations - I expect that the vast majority of people here follow far higher hygiene standards than doctors.

Do a couple of dummy runs if you won't to, but it's not really necessary.

Get 1ml syringes - they are easily obtainable. You get better leverage with them I think, easier to push oil in.

I rate injecting (after doing six so far) as being far less hassle than flossing, about on par with teeth cleaning. But I am only shooting 0.5ml!

Congrats on getting your T!
