the reality is most people I see at the gym don't know how to properly train . There is a huge difference in moving weight versus actually working the muscle. The guys who do look good (like me) know how to properly contract, squeeze, stretch that muscle out. You see guys doing quarter squats all the time thinking they r strong but if they actually went down full squat they would not be able to get up. Or guys who work chest by going quarter down (how the hell does that stretch the muscle fascia?).

And when it comes to diet (especially for being muscular AND LEAN) most people are really clueless or simply don't have the discipline. it takes a lot of protein.... consistently... and a lot of meals every single day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year, year after year. It has to be a lifestyle. People don't realize that 30g protein in every meal is a lot of work.

Rest and genetics top it off. For every 10 guys who try there MIGHT be 1 guy who has potential to look really good.
