I used to live in and near Venice and train at Gold's. Aaron Baker is about the only pro who I've spoken to beyond a short conversation.

He is a great guy, genuinely nice. I never spoke to him about gear, didn't feel he would be comfortable with it, but he was always willing to answer questions about training.

I'm surprised he didn't place higher too. It may have been political.

Agreed. I've certainly never seen naturally built calves shaped like that. I heard that other guys pros like Jim Quinn also damaged their careers by joining the WBF. But who can blame them? Vince McMahon took thirteen guys who were mostly making less than fifty grand from competing in the IFBB and gave them contracts with at least 5x that.
