Adding t4 while in hgh necessary?

Yeah, I usually see them started with a mix of the two, then it's just straight up T3. Again though, this is one of the areas that I only have a surface understanding of. :)

Interesting. So the point of T4 is to limit the amount of T3 converted. My question though, is what if the conversion is already low due to external (AAS/GH) influences? Wouldn't that be counterproductive?

Yeah, there's a point where more T4 can make you feel worse because excess gets converted to RT3, which is also elevated during extreme stress and sickness. A normal, healthy thyroid secretes about 80-100 mcg of T4 per day and 6-8 mcg of T3. Counting conversion from T4 and secretion, the total daily production of T3 is about 25-32 mcg.

I agree with Mega, get bloodwork, you might be optimal already, and halfwit has a good point, some people thrive on direct T3 supplementation because they lack the Deiodinase enzyme that cleaves the iodine from T4 and converts it to T3.

Currently 2.5 months into hgh cycle (Godtropin 5 iu/day) Got thyroid levels tested.

T3 95 ug/dl (90-170)
T4 5.1 ug/dl (6.3-12.4)

I'll start 100mcg of T4/day as soon as I receive it. Will update with blood work and results in 6-8 weeks. Based on these numbers my guess is that it should help.

Ouch, the complicated part is that we don't know if your levels are that low because your body is actually using. Thyroid is more complicated than it seems. What is your TSH?

Body actually using what? T4?

Doc didn't check TSH. Not sure why. I can ask specifically next time.

Update.

Been running 100mcg T4 for a month now along with 6iu Godtropin GH. The results with the T4 are MUCH better than without it.

I've cut out all cardio and have started dropping body fat faster than with it. Diet is on point, of course. I usually take the T4 in the morning around 5 when I take a piss. Haven't noticed any adverse affects and no noticeable rise in body temp. I'm a heavy sweater and that hasn't increased since starting T4.

I was starting to wonder if I should continue with GH since I wasn't blow away with the results. After starting T4 I'll definitely be continuing.

Bottom line- if you're spending money on growth you're losing (a lot of) value if you aren't running T4.

I can agree with this. I was getting lethargic and fat loss seemed to slow wayyy down after a few months running 5iu Eurotropin. I ended up hopping on 100mcg T4 and I got my energy back and the fat loss started right back up again. Overall I feel and look much better.

Just want to add to this.

I'm 2 months off any anabolics and only taking hcg, hgh and t4. While my weight and body fat are dropping strength is not. I hit a pr on deadlifts today. Thus I reason the t4 isn't causing any muscle loss.

I've never understood why folks would take T4 if thyroid output is reduced. In fact, I know very few hypothyroidism patients that use T4. Why not skip the whole silly conversion process and go with T3?

I prefer t3 for same reason. Wouldn't run it without being on test or gh tho.
