advice on strained muscle??

I'm a woman by the way, but maybe you guys can help. It seems like every time I do a shoulder press, or bench press machine, theres pain right under my armpit, which I believe is my tricep. Its not getting any better, so Im wondering if icing the joint would help??? Dumbells seem to be ok, so whats the deal?
 
Where exactly under your armpit? On your arm, or the side of your torso... is it in the front or rear of the affected area (closer to chest/back/ or in the middle)

I'm a weight training / conditioning coach, so I have to deal ith this kind of stuff a lot... I just need to know exactly where the pain is... PM me if you would like.
