After effects of protein drinks?

Hey fellahs,

I went down to a different supp store the other day and went for my normal bulk proten shake shit... i usually go musashi bulk or some other stuff, max gainer or something.

Anyway, i got served by sum chick and she was like yea get some of this shit in ya guts, its the shit! and i was like righto, and only cause i wanna stick my end in your pooper!!!!

so i bought this stuff, and man... i just wanna go to sleep like an hour after ive had it. im falling asleep at work, feeling fucked at training, its like poison man.

Fuck im pissed off. Do you guys get this sometimes.?

thats funny cause usually ill be ok till i take my protein shake, i'm on ON serious mass. I always thought it was just cause i was so full it made my sleepy. Some crazy shit we got here.
 
Well the human body is not made for eating cow milk proteins.. if you take too much at once your body has a hard time to digest it. You may also be whey/casein intolerant..

In some brand (eg Optimum Nutrition) they put enzymes etc which in my case seem to help..
 
Pro Complex is great and digests well. When I first changed proteins I felt all clogged up and sometimes got the shits from it. It took my body some gettin use to. You will live to train another day bro :)
If you don't feel any different in a wk , take it back and tell her to bend over.

i always take this when i want to gain weight and i never get sleepy.
 
Did you get a protein powder or a weight gainer (eg protein + tons of carbs, probably sugar) ?

Lots of sugar = huge insulin spike = sleepy
 
I dropped my protein powder for a gainer, and I am happy with it, but I have definitely noticed major ups and downs the first couple of days. I'm starting balance out more now. I'm eating more, and relying on the gainer less, but I'm still downing a shitload of it to get my protein, and the extra cals.
 
Yea im using a gainer... it fucks me pretty bad sometimes and then i train in the evening as well so by the evening im extra tired!!!

1 dose of this has the same amount of essential amino acids then approx 35gr of whey depending on the brand

but yeah its very expensive and has a shitty taste, but if you have a hard time digesting milk proteins then you could replace one shake per day with this (i replaced by PWO shake with this)
 
you can take a protein powder and add Peanut Butter, flax oil, milk ect and have the same amount of calories that the gainer shake has. Then you will not have the insulin spike with the sleepiness. It is a little more time consuming to make but better for the lethargy!
 
Dude, no wonder you're getting sleepy. I read the subject and it said protein shakes, but then realized you said you were drinking gainer.

Gainers will have a lot of everything in them, making you burn out I would think. I'm taking gainer instead of just a protein blend while on cycle, and notice I get a little bogged down.
 
Well if what your taking also as a high amount of simple carbs your body will secreat insulin and then the crash of that insulin will cause you to become tired...
