"All AAS use, leads to abuse" what are you thoughts on this statement?

I somewhat agree :/

i guess its subjective what people define as abuse, but realistically speaking, i think most users are bound to "abuse" it at least one time via too many compounds, extremely high doses, and/or no proper time off.

what do you guys think?

Those aspiring to me competitive bodybuilders or fitness models are, in my opinion, more likely to abuse AAS. Those using AAS just to get to a certain weight or size are less likely to abuse I would say. Some people will do a few cycles, and then that's it. The majority don't, because society these days follows a more is better view. In my personal life, I'll only be using AAS to get to my goal weight and then maintaining it from there naturally.

well it all depends on what you meen by abuse... it could be like what you said (sadpanda) "abuse" is when u use it at least one time via too many compounds, extremely high doses, and/or no proper time off.... which id say many do

or

it abuse could mean anything outside what the doctor prescribes which i would say we all do :P

I'd say it depends on the person and there personality. But I find it to b addicting and can c where abuse could come easy.

Agreed and also has to do with someones personality and if they have an addictive past. For me I plan to use only to get to my goal weight and maintain from then on naturally. But, I'm sure most people say that and never stop using

If I'm gonna put this much time and energy into something your dam right I'm gonna do it to the fullest. I love steroids and will continue to use them for a long time.

For most, yes. Very few people cycle responsibly. I'd safely say less than 1%.

You really think so? Wow that's astonishing in a really bad way. I suppose you are right. Some really young kids I see at my gym are small, then a few months later they are looking bloated and huge. There's no doubt the really young kids like that don't know what they are doing and rely on the knowledge of a few idiotic friends.

Absolutely. Cycling safely is a task, the majority are too lazy and/or have no respect for their bodies (other than exterior). Otherwise we'd see a lot more presentable figures. In the 19 years I've been training, I've met a about 4 guys that live the lifestyle properly.

i abuse steroids and i don't care.

dude eats var all day long like tic tacs..

so sad

" abuse "

ask a doctor . they will tell you that anybody here who doesnt have a script is abusing whatever compound they take, in any dose, by the strictest interpretation. Those are the same docs that are writing up psycho active meds for 10 yr old kids because they cant sit still in class..

"addiction" and abuse go hand in hand.. have a look at the APA criteria:

In addition to a preoccupation with using and acquiring the abused substance, the diagnosis of addiction is based on five criteria:

loss of willpower
harmful consequences
unmanageable lifestyle
tolerance or escalation of use
withdrawal symptoms upon quitting

I think the definition of abuse is subjective. One's definition of steroid abuse would be totally different to that of a professional IFBB. Steroids are part of an IFBBs lifestyle its impossible to say that it isnt.

On a general note, medical studies do prove a relationship between steroid abuse and kidney, heart, and liver problems. Defining the threshold between abusive and non-abusive is difficult.

I don't think the word lifestyle should only pertain to pro BB's. The average gym goer that uses steroids runs 1 to 2 cycles per year. Considering most cycles range between 10 to 12 weeks, that's a good chunk of the year, not including post cycle therapy (pct) spans. So yeah, I'd call that a lifestyle.

Now. Abuse is simple. It's ones disregard for their own well being. Same way any drug would be abused. While mega doses could be considered abuse with steroids, I don't think it is. There's nothing wrong with taking 2 grams of test per week. What's wrong is avoiding supporting drugs, blood work and everything else that accompanies your well being. If someone is going to run 2 to 3 grams of test, they better have panels ordered every few weeks.
