I am 48 and trained throughout my late teens, twenties and early thirties. In 1996 I was involved in a serious car accident and didn***8217;t train for 10 years due to serious back problems until such time that a chiropractor managed to fixed my back, I started training again back in 2006. During the period that I didn***8217;t train my weight went from 210lbs to 265lbs, I have now managed to get it back down to 210lbs. My body fat is, according to the poliquin seven point calliper test, 14% and according to my body composition scales 19%.
In regard to my training, I train in two phases accumulation (six weeks) and intensification (4/5 weeks) and then a week off. I train 5 times a week chest, back, shoulders, arms and always legs on a Sunday! I am benching 120kg, shoulder press 90kg and leg press 340kg. Not much cardio I***8217;m afraid. I did so much cardio to loose the bulk of the weight I put on over a ten year period just the thought of it churns my stomach. Not ideal I know!
I have never taken steroids and so my questions are
The bid question is... At 48 am I too old to take steroids? There are different schools of though on this!
If I am not too old, what type of steroids should I consider? There are so many, which ones are safer than others?
There are so many types of steroids oral and intro, anything oral goes through the liver is this correct and if so should I consider injections
Are there any precautions I should consider before hand?
What side effects should I anticipate?
How would I recognise any adverse effects?
Thank you in anticipation of you invaluable advice
