Another fucking hernia surgery!!!!!!

So years and years ago, I noticed a lump in my abdomen, a couple inches above my belly button. Went to go see my doctor and was sent for an ultrasound. I was told it was a lipoma (fat tumor) and no need to worry. My doc sent me to go see the specialist anyways and after meeting with him I was informed it wasn't a lipoma it was a hernia, umbilical according to him. Anyways months later I get in for hernia surgery and once all the bloat went away from the surgery I still had the lump there. So , 6 weeks post surgery I go back to see this guy for a follow up and I say the lump is there and I show him, he said oh that wasn't the hernia, we fixed the hernia, that's a lipoma!!! ok so whatever, the thing I went in to get fixed didn't even get fixed, I was a little mad, but whatever.

Now, about 8 years later Ive noticed this lump getting bigger, not at an alarming rate but def noticeable and it was causing me pain from time to time depending of what exercises I had done that day or even just a long day at work or me turning a certain way would cause me quite a bit of pain. So I go get another ultrasound, and guess what?!?!?! Its a fucking ventral hernia!!!!! Unbelievable, so I don't know weather this doc I seen years ago is a complete retard, but Im starting to think he was, I either had 2 hernias and he fixed one, or he didn't do shit, and now I have to deal with something that should have been taken care of years ago in the first place. What a pain in the ass.

Anyways that's my rant, what a piss off.

Thanks bro, ya speedy is what im hoping for, its a pretty decent size. Im gonna look into some TB500 to speed up recovery a little bit.

I saw on TV once this lady with huge ass lipomas all on her legs and arms, they can be cut out pretty easily which is what you probably should look into with another doctor ofcourse lol

I had a fat ball cut out of my quad a few years ago. it's back and twice as big or maybe I am much leaner and it looks bigger.

OP
could you not see the hernia? it is or was the lipoma?

I developed one in my belly button about a year ago. Doesn't hurt, but it doesn't look good. Dr didn't seem to be concerned.

That bites man, best of luck with your recovery.

BTW if you're in edmonton sometime I'd be happy to give you a spot, lol.

And ya this hernias bad, it hurts and gotta push er back in from time to time, cant do squats or deads right now, which im not happy about, i dont want to cause more damage, but its all good could always be worse. So i go to the surgeon in a week to get booked for surgery, hopefully its taken care of sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed.

I have a public membership for all the city facilities (pools, tracks, fitness centres etc) but I'm typically at one of the shadier ones on the south east unfortunately, for convenience before work.

I go to the St. Albert facility about once a week for a change of scenery and nicer equipment

There's a GoodLife fitness offer for CMAs that I'm really considering, $450/yr - same amount give or take ten bucks I'm spending on the public membership, and a location that's just as convenient for me with nicer (but more limited) equipment.

Its was never a lipoma lol it was a hernia all along, thats what i had originally went in for as it was noticeable, i must have had an umbilical one as well as a ventral one. I was misinformed as to what it was. I couldnt, however, notice anything in my belly button area so i really dont know what they did in the first surgery.

Not related, but personal experience with a herniated disk in my spine, Get the surgery asap, 6 weeks no lifting (for me), It's better to not have pain or chance of further injury. than to have further injury.
(herniated disk was from an accident at work - Heavy equipment operator...)

number 1 injury of HEOs=anything back related, Im an HEO myself, my backs good still, but regular chiro and massages are a must.

Loader operator exe bobcat it doesn't matter it's a rough ride on the back, not to mention when you have to pick up a shovel and get something done. Chiro spot on... Massages another spot on...

I found using a heating pad while I sleep or get home from work, helps alot.

Shitty thing is once you have one, it's an indicator you are susceptible to getting them again. Crappy for those of us that lift heavy. I've been lucky, haven't had one since I was 25, but mine was an inguinal; lower and to the right of my unit. Having a black and blue sack after surgery wasn't a fun week; was back to full power in two weeks.

Get that thing cut and meshed up with some polypropylene, or whatever they do nowadays; it can only get worse.

Saw a dude in Iraq with an unaddressed hernia: it was like a huge can of tomatoes hanging out of his gut, just nasty.

I keep hearing about TB500, time to do some research.

Ya Im gonna see if he'll do the mesh route and put the mesh on the inside of the wall as opposed to the outside, ive read this reduces reoccurance by a lot. 50% reoccurance rate with any other meathod, fuck that. and I am def going to be hoping on the TB500 bro.

ya I was looking up pictures years ago when I had my first hernia and holy fuck dude there were some pretty nasty looking pictures, like you said. I saw one guy who obviously left if far too long, it looked like he has a redish purplish doorknob sticking out of his belly button, just nasty!!

So I go to the surgeon on Wednesday to get surgery booked, its a pretty good size and I don't want it to constrict or have my abdomen wall tear even more so I hope I can get in asap.

I can still train normally, I just cant go as heavy as I would like on certain exercises, but soon enough ill be back to good.

Schredder,

Any update on the hernia surgery? Did your Dr put the mesh on the inside? Asking because I've had a stomach pain for a few months, Doc's not sure what it is, sending me for an ultrasound, thinks it might be a hernia like yours (not the sub-lingual, play with your nuts, turn head and cough normal kind)

Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Nah man, still waiting on a call for a surgery date. Ive seen the surgeon, just waiting now to be booked in. Free medical here in Canada but itll take a fuckin year to get any action.

Similar situation-been seen by two Doctors who had conflicting opinions but both agree I at least have an intestine tear. Going to a third Doc in a few weeks and a sonogram, ready to get it properly diagnosed and fixed so I can get back in the gym and start my next cycle.

Good luck on your surgery and a quick recovery!

Yep, mine is an umbilical hernia as well. Like I said, I noticed it at the beach last year. But now it is causing me pain when I lean on it. Have and appointment to see a surgeon. From what I read, it is an out patient procedure.
