i just found this thread. i know it is old but i have a funny story. as a kid i used to get killed at chess. always lost real fast to kids or whoever i went against. around 1971 i played against the neighborhood legend who folks were scared to play against. sitting on someones step after 5-7 moves someone yells CHECK MATE ! wow i thought i lost. i don't know how or what i did but i beat the MOFO. to this day the guy always pops up and demands a rematch. call me a chump but i'll hang on to my imaginary title forever. true story.
