I know there's got to be a few.

Looking at getting a HK .40 or the newer Gen 4 Glock 23 (.40 caliber). I'm planning on going to a range near by pretty soon and testing out the Glock 23 but I like to get feedback from people that own them if possible? Basically do you think the $500-600 difference is worth it for a HK?

I don't mind the no safety aspect of a Glock, don't have kids and I can just leave the mag out and chamber a round when/if I need to.

the glock is a great gun .. as is the HK .. i have shot both .. i own the glock and my buddy has an HK .. personaly i dont like the trigger pull on the HK .. but i guess if thats what you get used to , you would prob say the same bout other guns ..

best thing you can do is shoot them both and feel them out in your hands b4 you buy one. HK is more pricey .. but this is something your gona buy and most likely keep for a very very long time, if not forever ..

** i might get flamed by the HK fan base (if we have one here) , but i dont think its worth the price difference. both are great realiable guns to carry, and will not fail. but the only reason i will probably one day spend the money on getting myself the HK, is the same reason i spent the money and bought my Colt 1911. i like guns , and it just is a great addition to a nice collection, to keep in the safe and take to the range from time to time ..

I got the new springfield xd 40. Love it. The polymer grips are so nice and feel great. I love the handle safety and the double trigger safety as well.

I'm gonna get the 100 year anniversary edition 1911 .45 but I'm gonna wait till next year. The price will most likey reduce and everyone will have them on sale.

Revolvers are the best carrying guns. Pretty much guaranteed to fire. Semis have firing issues sometimes thats y I always clean them and take Care of them.

Indeed! I don't carry, I just keep it in a special holster glued under my night table for emergency only.

big herm- that 100th edition special is beautiful .. but the price on it is nuts .. i cant see myself spending almost 10k on it .. there will only be 750 made... and the regular anniversary issue is being made for orders only.. im sure there will be a lot of them .. but why order it and sell it for less? .. i hope your right though ..

springfield xd is another great gun for the price..

Yup seeing what the price will be afterwards. Ya i have a glock 40 as well but the xd is way better imo. The feel of it feels awesome. So comfortable just to hold

every person i know that has a glock say they are as reliable as a revolver.

ive got a 5 shot smith bodyguard 38 and a 9mm kahr along with a 5 shot tiny 22lr pocket pistol.
the smith is like american express , i dont leave home without it.

Dawg, is your 38 a snub nose or regular length barrel?

38 is about the perfect size, easy to hide and still has the tak down power.

38 snub nose with covered hammer and 5 round cylinder . designed just for pocket carry. mine is the lightweight model , mostly aluminum but its still rated for +p ammo and mine is loaded with hornady critical defense +p 110 grain ftx rounds . after a few weeks of carry i dont even notice its in my pocket , i bough one of those pocket holsters made for it thats slick on the inside for easy drawing of the pistol and the outside has some grippy stuff on it so the holster stays in the pocket when i pull the pistol.

DAWG - not all 1911 are that expensive .. unless you specifically want Colt... i like the Kimber models and just ordered myself this one for xmas for myself :)
