Anyway to estimate Total Test from Free Test

So, I grabbed my blood results from Medical Records. I have a follow up apt with my Doc tomorrow. The bloods were taken before my 3rd injection, tomorrow will be my 5th. The Doc scribbled down what blood tests in a random layout on the script pad, and I think it was confusing for the Lab folks. They gave me free test, but not my total test. Free test came back at 89 pg/ml. The range is 35-155. Anyway to estimate total test from Free Test numbers? E2 came back at 30.

I'm going to this appt. armed with what tests I want ran going forward, and that I need them written clearly in a list.

thats going to be tough... you could have high total and have your free test be lower

I figured as much since the free number is independent of total for the most part. Just making sure there wasn't any wizardry that could be done. Pretty frustrated that they didn't get the total test value.

Free Test is generally between 2%-4% of Serum Test, assuming relatively normal values of SHBG and Albumin. Even with SHBG at 0.1 or 100 you could have a free T range from a little over 1% to around 4.5%. Albumin is usually pretty stable in a narrow range (3.5 - 5g/dL), but if it were let's say 0.1 and SHBG were 0.1 (astronomically unlikely in a normal healthy person), you could get a Free T of say 65%.

Low albumin would be caused by generally some sort of acute or chronic inflammatory response but could also be kidney or liver or heart failure or severe malnutrition. If your albumin were 0.1, you'd probably be dead. :)
