I think this topic is very serious & not just normal , I wish I had known that before, But "never say never' is really applicable her...I would like to hear other suggestions

maggie, that guy in the video is 100% douche bag. he is clearly only saying these things because he's never touched a girl, heavy or slim. more than likely, a heavier girl rejected him and this is his revenge.
i personally think girls are supposed to be a bit soft. if i wanted a skinny, hard body, id be gay. my fiance is a figure competitor and i am much much more attracted to her in her off season vs dieting for a show. i would love it if she put on other 10-15lbs, but thats me.

Uhmm actually no.

I really doubt that guy was ever turned down by a fat woman.

When an obese woman loses enough weight they always talk about how 'life changing' it is. This is because they now have more energy, are actually noticed by males, and are treated better in society.

I worked as a bartender when I was younger in high end clubs for about 6 years.

The obese women were almost always ignored completely in the clubs, always went home alone and were never approached.

The question wasn't would a figure competitor look better with 10-15lbs which would make her in the 'normal' range.

The question was, are men attracted to obese women. The answer is simple, 9/10 men do not find overweight women attractive.

Put any spin on it you want. Try to lay any claim you want. Guys don't like fat chicks.

Maggie you are looking for the truth, I think the worst thing people can do is feed you lies and say:

'it's ok to be fat, guys will still like you for who you are'.

that's horeshit and everyone knows it, if you want to attract men, follow a regimented plan of consistent diet and excersize and watch the direct correlation between your weight loss and how much attention males give you.

Shit I dont care. I just love WOMEN. I find myself liking skinny, athletic, hard body, pudgy and homely, and yes even large women. That doesnt mean I like ALL women. It just means I can appreciate a specific woman regardless of their size or body type.

If shes nice, attractive (to me) sexy and turns me on, then shes a keeper.

Ive dated gals that ended up gaining more weight than I wanted but I was still just as attracted to them. Their personality made up for the weight gain.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ Hard to argue with that.

Men who are themselves in shape, and reasonably good looking aren't interested in overweight women.

Look around in public, how often do you see a fit guy with a fat girl? Oh never?

I'm not hating, I'm stating a fact.

I have no problem with overweight people, I just have no interest in them physically, and I am representative of the majority of the male population.

I don't feel that coddling an obese person and lying and telling them that people find them attractive is doing anyone any favours.

He might love you but I doubt he'd find you physically attractive.
The thread was about whether overweight women are attractive.

Overweight is nobody's ideal, when someone dates an overweight person it's because they are 'settling' or have low self confidence and don't think they can do any better.

This is just stupid.

YOU PERSONALLY are settling or have low self confidence if you date someone overweight.

Your comments don't even apply to the majority of people. In many foreign places the overweight lady/man is considered to be the most ideal and years ago here in North America the overweight person was the ideal and considered attractive.

I have high self confidence and have dated overweight men. A great personality goes a long way.

If a guy can charm me instantly his physique is an afterthought.

why not have both thow i say miss M ;-)
maybe im greedy i unno. :-P

I need brains but would like somone i find attractive also and Fat and unhealthy ISNOT one of them.
but to each his own.

I agree 90% of what counts on whtas in the head in a relationship but the body is somthing I care alot about also.

Agreed, I look at it as you're not taking care of yourself right, if your overweight.

Ok let me address what you have said.

First, the question is do MEN find obese WOMEN attractive.

The answer is no, men are attracted by visual cues., this has been proven by science.

The fact you dated a fat guy has no bearing on this conversation whatsoever. Women will pretty much date anyone with a sense of humour or confidence.

As for the rest of your comment about other cultures, uhmm totally irrelevant.

Some countries farting during dinner is a complement, we're obviously talking about North America where obese women are not considered desireable.

Haha I knew someone would neg rep me for being honest.

Funny thing is as I mentioned before, look at the results of the poll.

In today's society obese is perceived as lazy and unhealthy, both are turn-offs.

Once again stupid. You state everything like it's a fact and the end all. My comments were all relevant to the conversation. However since you cannot respond to them you choose to see them as "irrelevant".

You know little about men. As a scientist i know your so called "scientific proof" that all or most men are attracted by visual cues is non-existent unless talking about a first impression. When dating the majority of people will not date if there is not more than a physical/sexual attraction. Even if the relationship is based purely on sex there IS scientific basis that appearance is not the key thing in a sexual relationship.

I'm guessing you are under 30 and poorly educated.

My aren't you presumptuous. Being a female scientist certainly in no way qualifies you to know what men find attractive. Being a male myself I think I might have a slighty better grasp of what men like.

Oh and sorry to burst your bubble, I'm over 30 with a College Degree.

You don't want to accept what I am saying that's up to you, but don't presume to know what men find attractive better than I do.

I was asked, as a male, if I felt overweight women are attractive.

My answer is no.

Look at the poll, not a single person said they perfer overweight or obese women.

You can argue with my next paragraph until you are blue in the face, I am representative of athletic males in the 25-35 range and this is exactly how we feel.

"MEN ARE VISUAL CREATURES: they know RIGHT AWAY whether how you look "works" for them. When you first meet a man, there's a subtle decision process that goes on in their mind. they either hit the ACCEPT or REJECT button, you cant change this. You can be a witty, funny, fantastic conversationalist. but, if the WRONG impression is made with your appearance, they will be easily distracted"

You don't like that? Too bad, it's reality....

Want more opinions? Post this in general discussions and out of the womens forum, you'll get another dose of reality...

Yes, because a single poll on a bodybuilding board where people are more concerned than the rest of the population with body image is the tell all.

Go post the same poll on a fat acceptance group website and tell me the results.

As for being over 30 with a college degree. I just don't believe it. At all.

I like women with a little extra on them ... I don't find women who are skinny or jacked attractive. I like femininity ... curves, soft, pleasing to touch.

I don't think that a woman who has slightly higher body fat percentage doesn't take care of themselves. I happen to think Kim Kardashian's body is amazing.

A fat acceptance group isn't representative of the general populace. Nor is steroidology, but this is where the poll happened to be posted.

You can choose to believe my education / age at your own discretion. I'm 31, have a degree in E- Commerce and work for the 2nd largest bank in Canada.

None of those things are relevant. What matters is that my opinion is a very accurate representation of what the average 25 - 35 year old male is interested in.

I have not once bashed overweight people, I am merely trying to make the statement that the average man in my age bracket is not physically attracted to obese women, at all.
