At home vs. The Gym

bigcmonster

Graphic Guy!
Where would you rather workout at and why?

Me personally:

I like the idea of working out at Home and getting
big and visiting a gym everyonce in a while so all
your buddies can see how big your getting.

I like the idea of working out at a Gym because
of the atmophere. Sometimes when I go to the
Gym I just feel stronger and more motivated.

I used to work out in a smaller, dungeon type gym. It was expensive because not many people went there, but it was awsome.

I switched to a "night club" sort of gym because it was 15$ cheaper and I was tight for cash. I hate the hell out of it, I just cancelled and will go back to the dungeon gym, because the people there are more knowledgable (sp?) and understand a lot more.

I just have to get another credit card :P

Also, working out at home would be cool if you had the money to buy all the necessary things needed for it. I personally would end up spending A LOT of money to build a personal home gym, because I dont like those all-in-one machines. Also, no spotters, and I need spotters for some of my core lifts.

In the most recent men's health (magazine), a study done at an Iowa university (I think), stated that men on average benched +20 pds higher for their max if they were in an atmosphere where spectators were present.

If I was rich, I would rather workout in my own gym with ONLY my training partner.

Go where ever you want, as long as you have EVERYTHING you need and want. For me, the gym is the only choice because I would have to buy lots of equipment, lots of weight, and have a big enough area.

i tried the home thing...its ok but can get boring and unmotivated.
I like going to the gym, more equipment and chics.

Hahaha. Ya need the chicks I guess huh......

They actually piss me off because they are usually their just hoping to be looked at, nothing else. Keep that nonsense in the bar where it belongs.

There are cool chicks that belong in the gym, but not many.

I can't stay motivated working out at home. I feed off other peoples energy when I'm feeling drained. Just getting out of the house and walking into the "gym" environment gets me pumped.

I prefer to work out at home, where I can work out just in my underwear if I like.

Seriously though, working out at home has been good to me because I don't need to schedule so much time for the gym. I never have an excuse not to work out when I do my thing at home.

That said, it would probably be best if I joined a gym, because of the equipment.

Still, I don't like dealing with gym contracts or crowds at gyms or any of that nonsense.

I love working out at the gym. When theres a lot of people I get more motivated. Not so many people that you have to wait for a machine, but a decent amount of people in there. If theres no people, I can't get motivated.

Well, I work out at home most of the time, but prefer going to the gym.
Usually for 1/3 workouts, I'm at the gym.
I feel much more motivated working out infront of ladies, rather than being alone with just the mirror infront of me while I lift.

At the gym anytime, then i can psyc (spelling) myself up all the way there and then kick some weight ass!
Dont think it would have been the same thing training at home.
And it would cost a shitload to get all the stuff u need or that u find in a gym.
I like training at the gym by myself also when its empty, then u can shout as much as u want before squatting heavy or something :)

Started out at home to build up a bit of a base. Then I started going to a gym. The gyms have more equipment, and people to help motivate you. I personally get a rush of anger when I see some of these idiots and it pumps me up.

im only missing a few components at home.... treadmill, t-bar row, lat pull down, and a few others... i could probably get by working out at home for a couple weeks if i had too - but working out in a gym with other ppl is definately better.

Gym all the way, I tried at home. Good equipment is too expensive, noisy, takes up a ton of space, and I need the atmosphere change of a gym versus my home which I see all the damn time. When I go to the gym its like going to work, I'm going to kick some ass, where as at home I normally screw off.

I love going to the gym. Besides the crappy music theres nothing to complain about. Being around a bunch of people with the same goal in mind drives my motivation.
