Back at it after 10 month absense. Feedback, tips needed

Hey guys,

Well, after 10 months or so I'm back in the gym. I've gotta say it's really fuckin' tough, man...

I took 'time off' due to a drug/alcohol problem and subsequent treatment. I was really in a bad place. I'm 32 days sober now and things are looking much better today.

Now it's time to tackle some other issues. 1st on that list is getting back in shape. I'm currently 293 pds (6'3 1/2, 29 yrs old), pretty chubby. I was at 265 (not sure bf%) and not particularly lean but not fat if that makes any sense. Even then I could have stood to lose a good 15 pounds fat.

Does anybody have any tips to get back into somewhat decent shape? Like how many calories is a good amount to lose weight sufficiently? Whats a good program to drop weight and get some of my strength back? About how much weight can I expect to drop in how long? ANY feedback/recomendations helps. I really appreciate it.

My diet was never really super clean, but the past 10 months or so I've totally fallen off, no working out no dieting whatsoever.

RJ. One congrats on getting past your one month. Thats tough im sure. I used to be quite the ripper I must say. Mostly Psychedelics and heavy drinking and Pills when I was young. I wouldn't trade, training, eating big and lots of sleep and Test, for bong hits all day and jaeger bombs all night long. That probably sounds great to most or a little Miami blow and a fine ass Latino, lol. O.k. not trying to tease you, J/K. Fuck that shit man. Keep doing the same shit over and over and expecting different results, isn't going to happen. You probably heard that in the rooms. Since I stopped partying I feel higher now than ever, no lie. I fuckin love it. It's all the diet. Then you will find tweaking around your training. Turn the gym and the kitchen into your new drug. Be careful though if you take any juices. Ive seen three people in recovery fall hard taking gear as a crutch instead of their Drink or Drug. They were fine until they hit post cycle therapy (pct). They bye bye, the one is doing 7-10 in a federal pen.

Now im done bullshitting. Your ? how should I train and eat? Well im curious sounds like your a big SOB, 6 3 293lbs. Before I suggest some things to you can you tell me. Are your shoulders wider than your hips? Does your chest stick out farther than your stomach. If your answer is yes were signing you on the Ravens this yr. Im simialar stats as you 32 6 3 280ish solid core, only upper abs but chest comes out and is hard and shoulders definitely farther out than hips. It's a very nice feeling. He is gifted, fucking kid is 22 maybe 23 now, fluctuates 315-330lbs ripped. So why you wanna lose weight? You can strip that fat and maybe hold that 290. Show up in your meetings like that, lol. No seriously though. It's pretty simple you it all starts in the kitchen. Your gonna wanna hit up the Diet forum. Good Fats, lean meats, lots of veggies, egg whites with oats when you wake up. Get you some good Casein Protein Powder. If you want I have a nice diet man I can PM you later why I do for myself since were similar weight which makes me feel good and keeps me healthy and lean. It's gonna cost you though, J/K man I would do it now but I gotta jump, my friend is in a big Power Comp today here in PA. Training is simple for now. If I were you check out MilkD's training log, good shit in there. Go Compounds and allow plenty of recovery time. Ill send you something on that later too if you want. I like seeing people giving up the junk for training and eating clean, Im not in recovery nor abstient from partying I just toned it down two maybe twice a month and considering dropping that.
Like I said though use what you got man. 293lbs you might potential to really do something with that.

Yes, my shoulders are definitely wider than my hips but my chest unfortunely does not stick out farther than my gut. I got some love-handles going on too. Always been hard to gain in the pecs. I have a wide back and naturally big arms. I'll post a pick as soon as I can (i'll take a new one). 290 solid would be great but i'd be happy w/ 265-275 solid as well.

I'd love to get a sample of your diet. PM whatever you feel would help. I'm all ears, bro.

Yah, this recovery thing is tough but it's what I have to do. It really is 'life or death' for me. I've learned A LOT about myself and the way I've been living my life through working these steps. Good shit.
